Central

The Central Region is the heart of the Central Mountain Chain. It shelters major finds of the indigenous culture of Puerto Rico and better preserves the legacy of our Taínos. It is from the central zone that our eternal and traditional Jibarito (farmer) has been immortalized.
Although many of these municipalities are of easy access through main highways: #22 (san Juan – Arecibo) and Highway #52 (San Juan – Ponce), you can still explore pictorial countryside roads leading to small valleys, plantations and haciendas.
Municipalities in the Central Region are: Lares, Utuado, Ciales, Morovis, Orocovis, Corozal, Naranjito, Barranquitas, Comerio, Aibonito, Cidra, Aguas Buenas, Gurabo, Caguas and Cayey.
